The Senegalese international Papa Bouba Diop died on Sunday after a long illness and will be buried in Rufisque. The ceremony of raising the body took place this Thursday in Lens (France) in front of his family.
Aron Diop, Papa Bouba’s son, was present at the funeral and spoke of his father: « An exemplary father who gave us pride, » Aron told Challengesports.
After his death, the President of the Republic Macky Sall informed that Pape Bouba Diop will be posthumously elevated to the rank of Knight of the National Order for service to the nation. Especially since he scored the first goal of Senegal in the World Cup. It was in 2002 against France, beaten by Senegal (0-1).
