The AROA is delighted to announce the broadcasting of the second issue of its new television program, dedicated exclusively to the current issues of the African continent

This Tv program is an appointment between you and an African expert or recognized friend of Africa, in all fields (economy, society, history, environment, politics, …).
In August and July 04, 2021, the first one had as a guest, the eminent Chérif Salif Sy (click on the link to watch it again). Through your feedback, it appeared that it was very well received and followed.
For this second issue, we welcome another eminent member of the AROA, Dr. Ndongo Samba SYLLA, who needs no introduction.
Indeed, you must certainly know that :
- He was the world blitz champion, the first time that an event of the French-speaking Scrabble world championships was won by African players. It was also the first victory by players outside Europe;
- He is also an economist;
- He is a program officer at the Rosa Luxembourg Foundation;
- He is a writer (Le scandale du commerce équitable ; L’arme invisible de la Françafrique, une histoire du franc CFA );
- He is very courageous, even reckless, when it comes to defending his ideas, especially when the future of Africa is at stake (« Maintaining the CFA franc encourages fiscal indiscipline »; call for a « popular and inclusive » debate on the reform of the CFA franc; « African states should rather put in place sovereign national currencies »);
- He is a member of the AROA, whose vision he share.
Indeed, since its creation, the AROA has positioned itself as a credible alternative to the deliberately miserabilistic or biased discourse on the continent. In addition to its reports, which have proven that Africans can now look at their own continent in a different way, the AROA has been able to develop a new vision of the continent.
It is precisely to amplify and share this vision that RASA has decided to add an audiovisual platform. This will give the floor to any African, credible specialist in his field, from North to South, from East to West, to express through his « voice », his vision on current issues that challenge Africa and Africans, and indicate the « way » he recommends to the continent.
A project therefore in line with the vision of the AROA which does not want to be a reaction, but the affirmation and the lighting on other ways of positive transformation already at work in the real dynamics. Without ever losing sight of the fact that the AROA is also alternative because it combines expert knowledge and knowledge of experience, and that it gives a voice to authentic actors who are usually invisibilized and wrongly disqualified.
The languages of dissemination will be English and French.
